Energy makes things work. We use energy every day.

When you turn on the lights, you use electricity. Electricity is a type of energy.

When you cook food, you use gas or electricity. When a car moves, it uses petrol.

Petrol comes from oil. Natural gas is another type of energy.

We use gas to heat our homes. In winter, we need a lot of gas.

In summer, we use less gas. Right now, gas is very expensive in Europe.

Why? Because of a war in the Middle East.

Less gas is coming to Europe. So the price is very high.

Many people are cold in winter when gas is expensive. Governments are trying to help.

They want people to have energy that is cheap and safe.
